What is Leadership Development Day?

ATD’s Leadership Development Day is a free, virtual event that gives you the opportunity to hear from top minds in leadership development. You’ll hear leading organizations and solution providers share real-world case studies and actionable insights. During our day of engaging sessions, you’ll learn practical strategies and connect with industry experts. Don’t miss this opportunity to transform your leadership development programs.

Who is it for?

Anyone responsible for developing leaders in their organization. Whether you’re creating a new program from the ground up or looking to transform an existing one, this event will offer relevant insights and practical takeaways.

Leadership Development Day Agenda

  • 10:05–10:45 a.m.

  • 11–11:45 a.m.

  • 1:15–2 p.m.

  • 2:15–3 p.m.

  • 3:15–4 p.m.

Stop Training Leaders. Start Designing Systems.

Most leadership development doesn’t fail because of content; it fails because the system leaders operate in hasn’t changed.

If expectations, feedback loops, incentives, and operating rhythms remain the same, behavior will revert, no matter how strong the training is.

This session challenges the traditional approach to leadership development and introduces a systems-based model for driving behavior change at scale. You will learn how to identify where their current system reinforces the wrong behaviors and redesign it so that growth, accountability, and performance become embedded in daily operations.

This is not a session about adding more training. It is about building a system where leadership development actually works and progress is sustained.

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  1. See leadership as a system, not an individual problem. Map the system conditions that reinforce current leadership behaviors.
  2. Pinpoint breakdowns in their leadership system. Identify where misalignment between expectations, feedback, and accountability is driving inconsistency.
  3. Redesign for behavior change at scale. Implement practical system shifts that embed development into the way the business operates.
